My family and I immigrated to Arizona more than 25 years ago, carrying with us the values of our homeland, where caring for elders, family, and neighbors is not a choice — it is a way of life. From a young age, I learned that true care is shown through presence, patience, and respect. It means listening. It means showing up. It means treating every person as if they were your own.
As life unfolded, my path led me to pursue education in engineering, earning a degree in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona, followed by advanced education from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). While these experiences shaped my discipline, precision, and attention to detail, they never changed who I was at my core. Care was never something I learned in a classroom — it was something I was raised with. It was embedded in my roots long before any title or degree.
